“Wet-on-wet’ is a watercolour technique that demands much more water than usual! I find that paint suspended in water reacts to the state of mind and reveals the painter’s passion; it is capricious, but it responds to clear intent and high emotion, and thus has become my lifelong art teacher. Lately, I have become fascinated with seascapes and forests, their mystique and power to heal, revive and reinvent. I paint en plein air on local beaches around Vancouver and the Gulf Islands, favorite spots are Stanley Park, Spanish Banks, Hornby Island, Cortes Island. I accept commissions of paintings on Silk scarfs and paper. Archival reproductions of my watercolours as well as original works are available for purchase by contacting me here. You can also follow me on Instagram @tanya_boya where you can DM me with questions and/or commissions/ orders.
